Leonardo Pisano was born to Guilielmo Bonacci in 1170 in Pisa Italy. We better know Leonardo Pisano by one of his nick names, Fibonacci. Another of his lesser known nick names was Bigollo, meaning good-for-nothing traveler. It is unclear if this was a name given to him by his friends who noted him as a well traveled man or from concerned people who thought he was spending his time with wasteful, impractical ideas. We know now which one was right!
